Video: Paul Scholes delivers damning verdict on the Jose Mourinho era at Manchester United

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has slammed the lack of improvement made at the club under Jose Mourinho during punditry duty with BT Sport.

See the video below as the former England international basically slates Mourinho for taking the side nowhere in recent times while others like Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have improved and look ahead of them right now.

Scholes has previously been a big critic of Mourinho and has certainly been around long enough to see far better days from United, having been a key part in their glory years under Sir Alex Ferguson.

“I don’t think any of us would expect them to win the Premier League or the Champions League,” he said on BT Sport.

“It’s a work in progress and has been for three or four years.

“Do you see a team which is improving? I don’t think you do.”

United recently bounced back from consecutive defeats against Brighton and Tottenham, but have not looked convincing for most of the season.

Huge amounts has been invested in the transfer market, but big names like Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez are yet to really pay back that investment.

United were disappointing in the Champions League last season as they were knocked out early by Sevilla, so will hope to get this campaign off to a good start tonight with a win against Young Boys.
