Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba revealed after tonight’s win over Leicester City that Michael Carrick told him he wants to see him as captain.
Jose Mourinho handed the France international the armband for the 2-1 victory over the Foxes, and he paid back that faith by scoring from the penalty spot early on.
Pogba would surely be a popular choice for United skipper from here on in, even if he doesn’t immediately stand out as leader material.
Clearly a popular figure at the club and a top class player, we certainly wouldn’t be against Pogba being made captain permanently if there’s any chance of that happening soon.
Pogba: “Carrick came to talk to me and told me he wanted me to wear it because of the story, because of what I give to the club, what I give to to the people, the fans, the young people in the academy. They look up to me he said.” #mufc [MU] pic.twitter.com/tJstA5x4q9
