It’s well documented that Manchester United are in the hunt for a new defensive midfielder, but why no talk of a move for Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi?
As reported by the Sun, the 21-year-old has just had an absolutely superb season for the Foxes, topping the Premier League for tackles with 138 in total.

That puts him ahead of big names like N’Golo Kante, Idrissa Gueye and of course our own Nemanja Matic.
With Matic in need of someone younger and more full of running alongside him to allow him to drop deeper and dictate the play, and with Paul Pogba in need of pretty much anyone to free him of defensive duties, this signing seems a no-brainer.
Ndidi still has his best years ahead of him and seems absolutely ideal to progress under Jose Mourinho, forming a key part of the team as they look to challenge for the title again next season.
The Daily Mirror have been among those linking us with Napoli’s Jorginho, while a move for Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic may be all but done, according to the Sun.
Still, Ndidi has already proven himself at this level, is younger, and perhaps has a higher ceiling.
Let’s hope the Nigerian’s incredible tackling stats put him on the map a little more and can still influence Mourinho’s transfer plans as we head into the summer.
One thing’s for sure, if we don’t move for him fast it surely won’t be long before someone else does.
