Manchester United handed huge Neymar transfer boost after revelation to team-mate

Manchester United have been handed a potentially huge boost in the Neymar transfer saga as it looks as though he’s putting the message out that he wants a move.

According to Don Balon, the Brazil international has been in touch with his fellow countryman Philippe Coutinho, now at his old club Barcelona, and has told him he’s desperate to leave PSG at the end of this season.

Neymar only joined the French giants last summer but has endured a frustrating time at the Parc des Princes, notably falling out with strike-partner Edinson Cavani over a penalty and failing to steer the club any further than the last 16 in the Champions League.

The 26-year-old would certainly be justified in thinking a switch to PSG was a bit of a mistake, with the club lacking that historical prestige of the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid, mentioned by Don Balon’s report as being among the clubs in for him.

Neymar transfer would be a dream deal for Manchester United

The Neymar transfer could certainly work wonders for United as they look in need of reinforcements in attack, with Alexis Sanchez not at his best since his January move from Arsenal.

There also doubts about Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at Old Trafford after playing reduced roles in recent times and it’s clear Neymar would be a major upgrade.

Whether or not they can beat Real Madrid to the Neymar transfer is another thing, but it’s certainly encouraging that he’s quite open about seeking a move.
