Deal close: Manchester United handed huge boost as Liverpool deal set to fall through

Manchester United have reportedly been handed what looks like being a major transfer boost thanks to Real Madrid.

According to Don Balon, the Spanish giants are confident of getting a deal done to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson this summer, with club captain Sergio Ramos learning that the Brazilian is set to be the club’s next ‘keeper.

This would likely be huge news for United as it significantly boosts their hopes of holding on to David de Gea.

Another recent report from Don Balon claimed De Gea himself had agreed terms on a move to the Bernabeu and that a move looked on the cards as long as they raised enough funds from the permanent sale of James Rodriguez to Bayern Munich.

In a double boost for United, this could also mean arch rivals Liverpool miss out on the signing of Alisson, who was linked as a priority target for Jurgen Klopp in another recent piece by Don Balon.

If the Reds were to fix their goalkeeping problem for next season they’d be serious title contenders, but continuing with Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet while United keep hold of De Gea surely swings things majorly in our favour.

Now for Alisson to put in another starring display against Liverpool this week – to knock them out of the Champions League and to prove to Madrid he’s the man to replace take the no.1 spot at the Bernabeu next season!
